Tehran : Foreign Ministry spokesman Hassan Qashqavi said on Monday that the world public opinion does not consider Iran’s peaceful nuclear program as a threat.
Talking to reporters, he said despite propaganda launched by certain Western states against Iran, the world public opinion by no means consider the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program a threat to global peace and security.
Referring to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s visit to Kazakhstan, he said several documents will be inked during the president’s two-day official visit to the Central Asian country.
Ahmadinejad, heading a high-ranking delegation, left Tehran for Astana, Kazakhstan, this morning to review issues of mutual interest with his counterpart and several other senior officials of the country.
Meanwhile, Qashqavi announced that Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem is to arrive in Tehran on Wednesday to review issues of mutual interest with Iranian officials.
The visit is in line with regular consultations on bilateral and regional issues, he added.
Referring to Tehran-Damascus relations as friendly and consolidated, he said the two sides are determined to further strengthen their ties.
