“The job of media is to make minds of people for positive things and to raise voice against evil and oppression. But today’s situation is very sorrowful because media does not raise voice upon immoral actions and became so much discriminate that it does not highlights Muslim issues” said Maulana Jalaluddin Umri, the national president of Jamat Islami Hind(JIH).
He was speaking at inauguration ceremony of website www.dawatonline.com for Sehroza Dawat, a three-day newspaper, published by JIH.
He expressed his grief on lack representation of Muslims in media and requested Muslims to come in both electronic and print media.“It is matter of thought that how our message will come in media, our deep connection should be with media along with our own strong media” said Maulana Jalaluddin Umri.
Earlier Sheikh Manzoor Ahmad, the director of UNI Urdu service, inaugurated the special publication of ‘Sehroza Dawat’ “Jamat Islami ke 60 sal- Akabir-e-Jamat ki Nazar main” (The 60 years of Jamat Islami in the eye of forefathers of Jamat islami).
In his short speech, Mr. Manzoor said “Among all the Muslim groups, Jamat Islami is a moderate group but most of the people do not know this fact.” Highlighting the Muslim condition he said that Muslims have been backward for last 30 years. He stressed on documentation.
In the beginning of the programme, Mr.Parvez Rahmani, editor of Sehroza Dawat, highlighted the history of Dawat and said that Sehroza Dawat had not only been spokesperson of JIH but all Indian Muslims. The programme was attended by many people and ended with words of thank by Rafeeq Ahmad, secretary of Dawat Trust.
Dawat is being published since 1953.
