Ranchi : The Election Commission Tuesday issued notice to Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and his pilot Jagjit Singh for the unauthorised landing of a helicopter in a Jharkhand school last week.
The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief has been asked to submit his reply by Wednesday, 4 p.m., said an official of the Election Commission.
The Garwah district administration on April 7 had lodged a first information report (FIR) against Lalu Prasad and Jagjit Singh, who was arrested and released on bail on same day. The helicopter had landed at the school, the venue of a public meeting, instead of the helipad, which was a violation of the model code of conduct.
The same day, another FIR was lodged against the railway minister — this time in Kishanganj district for declaring that he would run a roller on BJP leader Varun Gandhi.
