“Chandigarh is famous all across the country for its tourist spots. There are many pretty places here to visit like Sukhna Lake, Rock Garden, Rose Garden and Government Museum and Art Gallery. The administration has decided to paint these locations and the scenic beauty of Chandigarh on the CTU (Chandigarh Transport Undertaking) buses,” Home Secretary Ram Niwas told IANS Tuesday.

“CTU buses are the main public transport in the city and they travel all over the city and in various states. Now wherever they go they will automatically educate people about Chandigarh and promote tourism,” he said.

He said this move would enhance the flow of tourists here.

According to tourism department, 960,912 tourists visited the city in 2008. It aims to touch the one million mark in 2009.
