New Delhi : A 38-year-old man was crushed under the wheels of a private-run Blueline bus in the capital, police said Tuesday.
Bahadur, known by his first name only, lost his balance while trying to alight from the bus near Sabzi Mandi area in north Delhi Saturday, police said.
“He fell on the road and came under the rear wheels of the bus. He was immediately rushed to the hospital by some onlookers, where doctors declared him dead,” a police officer said.
Naame Singh (37), the bus driver, surrendered at the Sabzi Mandi police station after the accident.
The Blueline buses in the capital have earned the nickname “killer” for rash driving by their drivers claiming many lives.
Over 300 people have lost their lives in road accidents involving Blueline buses in the last two years.
