Nelspruit (South Africa) : Over 900 of the 1,000 ballot papers that fell off a truck in South Africa’s Mpumalanga province have been recovered, Bua News reported Wednesday.
The Mpumalanga Independent Electoral Office (IEC) Tuesday said that they have recovered most of the ballot papers.
On Monday, the ballot papers fell off a municipal truck that was transporting election material from the White River warehouse to the Area Managers in Hazyview.
The ballot papers were found in a street by a man and his wife who informed the IEC.
“The credibility of today’s (Wednesday) election shall not be compromised by this incident,” said the IEC in a statement.
