Jammu: Continuing their drive against stray cattle and selling of adulterated milk, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today lifted 14 stray cattle and 15 cans of adulterated milk was destroyed during a special checkup.
In a drive launched at Satwari, Gandhi Nagar, Airport Road, Jammu City, Pananma Chowk by MVO Dr Vireshwar Sharma and his team lifted about 14 stray cattle which created a menace among the masses.
Moreover, Dr Vireshwar Sharma and his team also accelerated its drive against the selling of adulterated milk. On routine milk round testing, team tested 15 cans of milk from Panjtirthi, Amphalla, KC Chowk, Rehari Chowk, Tawi Vihar etc.
During this anti-adulteration drive, one can of low grade milk was destroyed and seven cans of adulterated milk were seized, official sources told News Agency of Kashmir adding that total fine to the tune of Rs 1300 was realized from the erring milk vendors while quality milk after proper investigations and tests was handed over to the sellers.
