New Delhi: Getting licenses in Delhi for firearms, or for running cinema halls, discotheques, restaurants, or for selling firecrackers has become easier and hassle-free. The licensing branch of Delhi Police Tuesday launched a dedicated website for the purpose.
However, people may have to cough up more money for the service as Delhi Police Commissioner Y.S. Dadwal said his force has approached the government to increase the licence fees that have not been revised for over three decades.
“We have moved a proposal before the government to increase the licence fees. The increase in the rate of fees will be realistic,” Dadwal told reporters here during the inauguration of the website.
The website, www.delhipolicelicensing.com, has all necessary information about various procedures to be adopted for getting licence for various purposes. Applicants can also download forms from the website.
Dadwal said they were not accepting online requests but hoped it would start soon.
