Islamabad : Pakistan said Tuesday that it has taken serious notice of Indian premier’s comments and asked the neighbouring country to share the information regarding possible attacks by alleged Pakistan-based terrorist groups.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi talking to newsmen here said that Pakistan has taken the recent statement of Indian prime minister “very seriously.” He asked New Delhi to share the information regarding any plans of attack on India by alleged Pakistani terrorist groups. The Indian prime minister in New Delhi had said that the Indian government has information of “an ongoing ploy of terrorist groups in Pakistan” preparing to strike India again.
On Monday the Indian High Commission was summoned at the foreign office and conveyed Pakistan’s concerns over the remarks.
The foreign minister said that Islamabad wants an exchange of that credible information that India supposed to posses on which this allegation is based as the two countries had decided in Sharm El-Sheik to cooperate in information sharing with each other for curbing menace of terrorism.
“We can’t take any such statement lightly. Pakistan wants peaceful and friendly relationship with all its neighbors and that’s why it wants that the misunderstandings should be ratified. So, let’s see what they respond to us,” said the minister.
