Patna : The police will approach the court for speedy trial of Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader and former MP Vijay Krishna, who is the prime accused along with his son Chanakya in the abduction and murder of a businessman, officials said Friday.
Vijay Krishna, in his late 50s, was arrested from Faridabad in Haryana and brought here Thursday.
“We will file a chargesheet soon and approach the court for a speedy trial,” Additional Director General (Police Headquarters) Neelmani told IANS.
Vijay Krishna was arrested by a police team from Bihar after evading arrest for more than two months in connection with murder of Patna businessman Satyendra Kumar Singh. A non-bailable warrant was issued against the JD-U leader by a Patna court.
Vijay Krishna was brought here by an evening flight from New Delhi Thursday on a transit remand. He has been lodged in the Shastrinagar police station.
“We will interrogate him on his involvement in the murder,” said Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Vineet Vinayak.
Police sources said that Vijay Krishna would be produced in a court here Friday.
Satyendra Singh, 50, was abducted in the last week of May. His decomposed body was found floating in the Ganga river June 11.
