New Delhi : A suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative, who was arrested with explosives and a Pakistani passport from the New Delhi Railway Station here, was sent to police custody for 14 days Wednesday.
Saleem Mohammed alias Yusuf was produced in the Tis Hazari Court Wednesday and sent to police custody. He was arrested by the special cell of Delhi Police Tuesday from the Ajmeri Gate terminal of the railway station.
Police had seized a Pakistani passport issued in the name of Yusuf and a voter identity card issued by the Jammu and Kashmir authorities in the name of Saleem Mohammed from him.
“We arrested an LeT operative from the Ajmeri Gate terminal Tuesday noon. We have recovered some chemicals, explosives, four detonators and two timers from his possession,” Joint Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) P.N. Aggarwal had told IANS.
Earlier this month, Delhi Police arrested two suspected Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists from Daryaganj area of central Delhi.
