Islamabad : Pakistani security forces announced on Saturday that it killed six militants and destroyed a suicide training camp in the northern valley of Swat.
According to a military press statement, the security gunship helicopters acting on a tip-off pounded a suicide bombers training camp in Swat valley, where the military has been conducting an operation since April.
It said the training camp was destroyed and about six militants were killed in the operation.
Moreover, the statement said that security forces conducted a search operation in the villages of Gul and Gul Shah, destroying three terrorists’ houses and two bunkers.
About 11 terrorists were also apprehended during the operation, it said.
The statement further said that the forces raided a mosque and recovered 15 kg of explosives, including IED accessories.
Pakistani forces have been conducting an operation against Taliban militants in Malakand Division, which also includes Swat, since April. Nearly 2,000 militants have been killed and hundreds of other were apprehended.
