Navmaharashtra Yuva Abhiyan, a department of Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan, Mumbai is working with youth of Maharashtra. It was felt that this work is not enough and there is a need for state to decide its policy for the largest group of population, youth, for their development and rights. The Abhiyan took lead in this direction and triggered discussion for Maharashtra State Youth Policy. Dialogue was started in this direction with institutions, organisations and experts working with youth.

“This workshop will primarily help us to know the policy drafted by Navmaharashtra Yuva Abhiyan much better. It will be a good opportunity for Muslims intellectuals, institutions, experts and likeminded people to take part in Policy making,” said Amir Edresy of Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP), co-organizer of the workshop.

“AMP has realized that intellectuals can have a say in the Maharashtra State Youth Policy, for the Muslim youth by raising specific concerns. These concerns if aptly communicated, can act as our tool to shape the Youth Policy. We can also incorporate a set of alternative solutions to best deal with the concerns and pass resolution for the same,” Edresy said.

During the workshop present situation of the youth, youth’s aspirations, present schemes, policies and laws of youth concern will be discussed. The workshops will be learning space for the youths as well as the space to share vision and to form a bonding between them.

The workshop will be held at Mohammadiya High School Auditorium, Near Nawab Masjid, Opp. Shalimar Hotel, Mohammed Ali Road, Mumbai.
