The commission monitored voting in booths in seven assembly constituencies – two in Daltanganj, and one each at Garwah, Seraikela, Chaibasa, Chatra, Latehar and Barkatha.

The officials observed the polling both from Ranchi and the Election Commission headquarters in New Delhi.

“Enthused by the response of live monitoring of two polling booths in the fourth phase, we increased the number to eight in the fifth phase. In future, we will be able to cover more booths,” Ashok Kumar Sinha, joint election commissioner, told IANS.

In the fifth phase polling took place to 16 of 81 assembly seats. The counting of votes will take place Dec 23.
