New Delhi : Chhattisgarh Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan was Sunday given additional charge of Andhra Pradesh following the resignation of N.D. Tiwari, the Rashtrapati Bhavan announced.
Tiwari, 86, resigned Saturday citing health grounds in the wake of an alleged sex scandal.
President Pratibha Patil has asked Narasimhan to look after Andhra Pradesh until a new governor is named, a Rashtrapati Bhavan statement said.
“The president has accepted the resignation of Tiwari and has appointed Narasimhan to discharge the functions of the governor of Andhra Pradesh in addition to his own duties until regular arrangements for the office of the governor of Andhra Pradesh are made,” said the statement.
