Russian flight attendant jumps to death from Mumbai hotel

Mumbai : A Russian airline crew member died after jumping from the 16th floor of the Hotel Trident Oberoi here early Monday morning, a police official said.

The deceased, identified as Adrial Alexander (22), was a flight attendant with Russia’s Aeroflot airline, investigating officer Pratap Jadhav told IANS.

According to the police, Alexander was talking to someone on his mobile phone around 1.15 a.m. when he suddenly threw himself forcefully onto the sealed glass windows of his room, thereafter falling 16 floors to the ground.

The hotel authorities and police managed to rush him to the Bombay Hospital where he succumbed around 6.30 a.m., Jadhav said, adding that the body has been sent to Sir J.J. Hospital for an autopsy.

Alexander, along with four other colleagues, had checked into Room no. 1603 Sunday evening. The motive behind his act is not yet known and investigations are on, according to Jadhav.
