Chinese national arrested near Pakistan border

Amritsar : India’s Border Security Force (BSF) Friday arrested a Chinese national from the Attari land border check post for trying to cross into Pakistan from India without valid travel documents.

The BSF handed over the man, identified as Alimu, to the Punjab police. He did not possess a visa to enter Pakistan through the land route.

Police officials said that he had been booked under the Indian Passports Act. They said that information about the Chinese national, who has been lodged in the Amritsar central jail, was being sent to the Chinese embassy in New Delhi.
