The official Associated Press of Pakistan quoted a foreign office spokesman as saying that it was yet another manifestation of undisguised hostility and global smear campaign being conducted by India against Pakistan.

“Pakistan rejects the allegations as these are far from reality and patently malafide,” the spokesman said.

The remarks were inconsistent with the established norms of diplomatic parlance and were in sharp variance with restraint and responsibility demonstrated by Pakistan, said the spokesman.

“It is Pakistan’s earnest desire to defuse tensions in South Asia and it has offered cooperation in dealing with the issue of terrorism to India,” he said.

Addressing a foreign affairs conference in Paris on Feb. 4, Indian Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon said the organizers of the terrorist attacks on Mumbai were clients and creations of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence, Pakistani newspaper Daily Times reported on Friday.
