Delhi blasts accused allowed to appear for his MBA exam

New Delhi: Saquib Nisar, one of the accused in September 2008 Delhi serial blasts, and currently languishing in Tihar Central Jail here in New Delhi, has been allowed by the Delhi High Court to appear for his third semester MBA examination at the jail.

Saquib, picked up day after the September 19 Batla House encounter last year, has been pursuing the MBA course from Sikkim Manipal University through correspondence. He is among five Azamgarh youths picked up following the encounter in which two allegedly terror suspects were killed at L-18 in Batla House area in Jamia Nagar.

Justice Reva Khetrapal gave the permission with the condition that jail authorities and the University give their no objection. The court has also directed the jail authorities to provide the accused with relevant books so that he could prepare for the examination likely to be held between February 7 and 12.

The accused had submitted that he did not want to miss the exam as his performance in the second semester was good.
