Visually challenged cricketers better than Indian squad: Kapil Dev

By IANS,

Lucknow : Former Indian cricketer and the captain of World Cup winning team in 1983 Kapil Dev Sunday inaugurated the finals of 8th Shakuntala Mishra Memorial Blind Inter-State Cricket Tournament here and said that the visually challenged players are “more talented than the Indian cricket team”. “Blind cricketers are more talented than our Indian cricket squad. If our (Indian cricket) team somehow manage to become as talented as the blind cricketers, we can win not one, but as many as 10 World Cups,” said Kapil.

“When it comes to talent possessed by the blind cricketers, their concentration and determination is literally unmatched.”

“The way these cricketers bowl, bat and take catches is simply amazing. We need to learn from the blind cricketers, which in turn will help us hone our performing skills,” he added.

The final match of the tournament is being played between Haryana and Karnataka. Haryana Saturday defeated Maharashtra by 92 runs to enter the finals of the tournament.
