Pakistani officials leave for India for first visit after 26/11

Islamabad : A delegation of officials was leaving for India Monday to attend the SAARC Economic Council meet in New Delhi. It is the first official visit from Pakistan to India after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

The four-member Pakistani delegation is headed by Commerce Secretary Salman Ghani.

The federal commerce secretary said the Pakistani delegation, attending the SAARC Economic Council two-day meet beginning Feb 10, comprises commerce joint secretary, officials of the Foreign Office and Federal Board of Revenue, Geo TV reported.

Ghani said the matters related to non-tariff free trade without any barriers and boosting economic interactions among the SAARC countries would be focused upon.

He is expected to meet his Indian counterpart during the tour.
