KABUL : Two soldiers were killed in a suicide car bomb against U.S. military convoy in Afghanistan’s eastern Khost province on Tuesday, an official said.
An official with the press department of the alliance in the southeastern region told Xinhua that it occurred at around 10:40 a.m. (0610 GMT) as two soldiers were killed and another sustained injuries in the blast.
Eye witnesses at the site also said two soldiers were killed and another got injuries.
The press office of U.S. led Coalition forces based in capital city Kabul has confirmed that they were aware of the incident.
The bombing also caused panic among residents, said police officer Guldad.
No group or individuals have yet to claim responsibility for the attack while Taliban militants have intensified their assaults against interests of government and international troops since the beginning of 2009 in Afghanistan’s eastern region bordering Pakistan.
Over 100 people have been killed in conflicts and Taliban-linked insurgency so far this year in Afghanistan.
