Bhubaneswar : Three passengers were killed and eight injured when the Howrah-Chennai Coromandel Express was derailed Friday evening near Jajpur railway station in Orissa, an official said.
Giving the casualty figures to IANS, East Coast Railway chief public relations officer J.P. Mishra said that 14 coaches of the Coromandel Express coming from Howrah were derailed at Jajpur.
He said the number of injured might rise as details come in. Jajpur is some 120 km from here.
The reason for the derailment is to be ascertained, the official said.
