New Delhi : There is good news for avid travellers who always wanted to share their travel experiences as a search engine has launched a platform for travel bloggers to satiate their writing skills.
The blog of travel search engine zoomtra.com has a collection of handpicked entries written by some people who share their good or bad travel experiences – a novel way to help people research and plan their travel based on the unbiased content.
“Travel bloggers in India are a rare species and undervalued despite the quality content they write out of free will. Till date there was no such platform in India where we could make our words reach the masses,” said Mridula Dwivwedi, a travel blogger.
The travel portal’s director, Vikas Jawa, told IANS: “This is our latest innovation to provide travel planners the best tools and information which have been taken from various sources. At the same time it gives a brilliant opportunity for travel bloggers to showcase their content and get new loyal readers directly on their own blog.”
“This concept has global applicability and provides unbiased information so people can plan their trip accordingly,” he added.
Jawa said the blog provides the real picture of a particular place as everything written on the blog comes through personal experience.
Currently there are 23 travel bloogers who contribute to the blog. But not everyone can post his blog on it as bloggers have to get themselves registered first and after that there is a screening process that is mandatory for them to clear.
“We follow a stringent screening process to evaluate the writing quality of our bloggers. Our aim is to give our customers first hand information and to make them revisit our site again. So we have to maintain this benchmark,” Jawa said.
“They are not paid anything but it gives them due recognition,” he added.
