Mumbai : Jet Airways group chief executive Ravi Chaturvedi has put in his papers citing personal reasons. His resignation would be effective April 1, said an airline official Wednesday.
Chaturvedi was appointed CEO of the Naresh Goyal-promoted airline in October last year. “He has expressed his desire to go back to his family in the US ,” said a Jet spokesperson.
The airline has witnessed many members of its senior management leave during the past year, including the chief executive of the airline’s low-budget carrier, JetLite, Maunu von Lueders, in July.
The airline, one of the largest private air carriers, has been making losses in the wake of an economic slowdown and high operational costs. It discontinued two international routes last month – Bombay-Shanghai-San Francisco and Bangalore-Brussels, after discontinuing the Amritsar-London-Amritsar route in December to cut down operational costs.
The airline has also leased out four wide-body Boeing 777 aircraft, besides phasing out three Boeing 737 planes.
