Mumbai : Indian equities markets slipped into the red at the end of trade Friday, with a key index closing over two percent below its previous close.
The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensitive Index (Sensex), which opened at 8,943.78 points, was at 8,861 points, a decrease of 181.63 points or 2.01 percent from its previous close.
The S&P CNX Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) ended at 2,747.2 points, 1.51 percent down from its last close of 2,789.35.
The BSE midcap index was 1.6 percent lower, while the BSE smallcap index was down 1.56 percent.
