Rahul Gandhi meets women artisans in Gujarat

Ahmedabad : Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi interacted with women artisans in a Kutch village Sunday as part of his two-day tour of the Kutch, Saurashtra and northern regions of Gujarat.

The young Congress MP met women engaged in handicrafts in Bhujodi village of Kutch district, which was devastated by a major earthquake on Jan 26, 2001.

During his Gujarat trip, which began Sunday, Gandhi is to meet Youth Congress workers, attend a state-level convention of the party in Rajkot and also go to Patan city in north Gujarat to address a state-level convention of youngsters from the Scheduled Castes.

The Congress MP is to visit Himmatnagar in Sabarkantha district to interact with young farmers.

On Monday, he will visit state capital Gandhinagar to inspect a booth specially created to register new members for the Youth Congress. In Ahmedabad, he will meet young professionals like doctors, engineers, architects, chartered accountants and students of the Indian Institute of Management.
