Berlin, Feb 25, IRNA — A state court in the southern German city of Munich sentenced a far-right activist to a six-year prison term for denying the Holocaust.
Horst Mahler was found guilty of anti-Semitic hate speech and distributing books written by German Holocaust denier Germar Rudolf.
He was immediately detained after the announcement of the court 4 verdict.
The 70-year-old former lawyer of the neo-Nazi NPD party had branded the Holocaust as the ‘most gigantic lie in world history’.
Mahler was repeatedly convicted of inciting people.
Denying the Holocaust is considered a crime in Germany. German authorities have over the past two years stepped up their crackdown on people who deny the Holocaust.
