Palestinian medical sources told KUNA that more than 400 Palestinians had so far been killed in the Israeli operation, among them a large number of women of children.

More than 2,000 Palestinians have been wounded in the air raids, the sources added, saying that the injuries of many of these were grave and that the ICU was over-crowded with people hit with shrapnel and many with severed limbs.

According to the same sources, last night’s raids on several locations claimed the lives of five Palestinians, of which two were women, while wounding some 50 others, including infants.

Israeli planes had waged a major attack early this morning at the Legislative Council headquarters in western Gaza City and the Ministry of Justice in Ramla district, destroying both buildings.

Several blacksmith and currency exchange shops were also targeted in Gaza City and elsewhere.

Meanwhile, medical sources said three Palestinians, including two women, were killed in raids early Thursday on Rafah and Jabaliya.

The raids coincided with an attack on an open area close to Al-Amri Mosque in Jabaliya, according to locals.

In southern Gaza, Israeli planes targeted a blacksmith shop in Khan Younes, damaging the shop and houses in the vicinity but no casualties were reported.

Furthermore, local radio said that a man and a woman were killed, and 30 others were wounded, in a late night raid on Shaboura district in Rafah refugee camp, southern Gaza.

According to the radio, the house of a Hamad leader was targeted.

Medical sources, meanwhile, said a 60-year-old woman, Fatma Aloush, was killed and four Palestinians were wounded, including her 12-year-old son, Mohammad, in a raid on Jabaliya.
