“All options, including rotating the chief ministership between the two parties, the post of speaker and all modalities will be discussed at the meeting,” Congress leader in charge of Kashmir affairs Prithviraj Chavan told reporters.

He said the meeting, to be held at the residence of senior Congress leader and External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee, would also discuss pre-poll alliance with the NC for the upcoming the Lok Sabha elections next year.

Chavan reiterated: “We wish even the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to remain a part of the UPA (Congress-led United Progressive Alliance). But in view of the alliance with the NC, we need to examine various aspects.”

Besides Mukherjee and Chavan, the meeting would also be attended by Ahmed Patel, political adviser to the Congress president, and leaders Saifuddin Soz and Ghulam Nabi Azad from the Congress side. The NC would be represented by chief minister-designate Omar Abdullah and others.
