Gaza : Israeli tanks, engaged in the land offensive in Gaza Strip, are targeting civilian houses, according to Palestinian witnesses on Sunday.
The witnesses were quoted by local media as saying that the tanks, situated in what was formerly the Israeli settlement of Netsarim, opened fire at houses in Mighraqa town, south of Gaza City.
Rockets were also launched at the houses, damaging several of them, the witnesses added, noting that Israeli troops had stormed several Palestinian homes and were using their rooftops as lookout posts.
Israeli troops are firing at Palestinians from atop the rooftops, they said.
Meanwhile, local radio said that Israeli planes targeted the house of a civilian, Mohammad Al-Hindi, in Rafah’s Shoka district.
Six members of Al-Hindi’s family were wounded in the raid and were evacuated to hospital for treatment.
