Ranchi : Ten people died in two separate road accidents on the outskirts of Ranchi, a police officer said Wednesday.
Seven people died Tuesday when the Tata Sumo they were travelling in rammed into a tractor near the Taimara valley at the Ranchi-Jamshedpur national highway, about 45 km from here.
The condition of the two men injured in the accident is said to be critical. They were admitted to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) in Ranchi. The nine people were travelling from Ranchi to Jamshedpur, the police officer said.
The car was completely smashed and it took over 10 hours to take out the bodies, an eyewitness said.
In the other accident, three young men died on the spot when the bike they were travelling in was hit by a truck. The men were returning after a picnic at Dasam waterfalls on the Ranchi-Jamshedpur national highway.
It took place near the Raisa valley of Ranchi district. The truck driver is at large.
