Chennai : Four men have been arrested for allegedly black-marketing tickets of the Chennai ATP Open Tennis Tournament, the police said Tuesday.
“Acting on a tip-off from tennis lovers, we caught four men while they were selling tickets. Cash totalling Rs.30,880 and over 400 tickets were seized from them,” joint commissioner of police P. Balasubramanian told IANS.
The arrested men have been identified as N. Shiva, 25, V. Shanmugham, 27, K. Ramesh, 27, and S. Shiva Kumar, 30.
“The suspects have been lodged in Puzhal Central Prison after being remanded by a magistrate. Some vehicles and mobile phones have also been seized,” he added.
Tournament officials were not available for comment.
