Gaza : Up to 550 Palestinians were killed during 10 days of Israeli onslaught against Gaza Strip, a Palestinian doctor said Monday.
Among those killed were 162 children and 57 women, Dr. Mo’aweya Hasanein, director of emergency at the Palestinian health ministry, told KUNA.
He said around 50 Palestinians, mostly civilians, were killed in Israeli raids in different parts of Gaza today only.
Hasanein said more than 200 Palestinians were injured today, raising number of wounded since Israel began its barrage on December 27, 2008, to over 2,700 people.
He noted that many bodies were still under the debris of the devastated houses, apartment buildings and institutions targeted by the Israeli rokets.
Hasanein said the Israeli warplanes were attacking the Palestinian ambulances killing three medics tonight and injuring 20 others.
The Israeli assault is continuing amidst regional and international efforts to cease hostilities in Gaza.
