A petition before the Delhi High Court, filed by Voice of India, has said that it had last year sent a representation to the Delhi government and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) seeking basic facilities in the Metro trains but got no satisfactory reply from them.

The NGO wants the DMRC to provide these facilities within two months.

It has also alleged that the corporation had failed to provide special sitting arrangements for senior citizens.

The petitioner has also raised questions over the security at Metro stations. “There is absence of baggage screening and the metal detecting wooden-frames through which a traveller passes before reaching a platform are also defective.”
