The first phase of the campaign would begin with a series of seminars and lectures by experts in various parts of the state, state Congress president Ramesh Chennithala told reporters here.

“On the 20th of this month, Congress workers will stage a protest in front of the state secretariat here and in all district headquarters against the poor governance of the Left Government led by V.S. Achuthanandan,” said Chennithala.

The nearly month-long “Kerala Reksha March” led by Chennithala would cover all the 140 assembly constituencies from Feb 8 to March 3, he said.

In the 2004 general elections, the Congress lost all the 17 seats it had contested. The Congress-led United Democratic Front managed just one seat of the 20 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state.

Chennithala said the selection of candidates for the polls will be discussed after the three phased campaign ends.
