Railway contractor shot dead in Jharkhand

Ranchi : Unidentified criminals shot dead a railway contractor in Jharkhand’s Bokaro city Tuesday morning, police said.

Pankaj Singh was shot dead when he stepped out of his house in Cooperative Colony for a morning walk.

Four criminals arrived on two motorcycles and pumped six bullets into his body. Singh died on the spot.

Bokaro is 135 km from state capital Ranchi.

On Monday, Singh bagged a Rs.8 million railway contract in Dhanbad district. He was also undertaking a Rs.3 million railway contract work in Bokaro.

Police suspect professional rivalry to be the cause of the killing.
