Madhya Pradesh admits to irregularities in land deals

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government Wednesday admitted to irregularities in sale and purchase of state-owned land in Seoni district and said officials found guilty would be dismissed.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party’s legislator Neeta Pateria alleged in the assembly during question hour that a big scam had taken place in collusion with agents and officers in the sale and purchase of government land in Seoni.

Minister of State for Revenue Karan Singh Verma admitted irregularities and said officials responsible for it stand dismissed.

“Some government officials were found guilty in this connection during the departmental probe, and I am dismissing all of them,” Singh said.

On this, Ajay Singh of the Congress objected and said how can the minister dismiss the official who is accused.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan then clarified that the minister meant to say that the officials would be dismissed if irregularities were detected.
