New Delhi: A man was killed and four other people suffered injuries when a speeding mini truck lost control and rammed into a tea kiosk in Vasant Vihar area of south Delhi Wednesday, police said.
Dharmender, who was behind the wheels, lost control of his truck which first rammed into the kiosk and then some shanties in the area Wednesday morning, police said.
Mohammed Shamim Alam, a 38-year-old labourer who had come for tea at the kiosk, died in the accident.
The injured were identified as kiosk owner Dhani Ram, his wife and two residents, Shyam Singh and Naresh. They were discharged from the hospital after preliminary medication.
Dharmender had escaped but was later arrested. Police said a case of rash and negligent driving has been registered against him at the Vasant Vihar police station and further action was under way.
