However, the court will decide only on Monday for how many days Haleem will be in police custody. D Rajan, Crime Branch DySP, who is the head of the Special Investigation Team, had submitted an affidavit seeking the custody of Haleem for 14 days for further investigation and interrogation in other cases linked with terrorism in the state.

Haleem was arrested on Wednesday for his alleged involvement in the twin blasts that took place in Kozhikode city in March 2006.

The Central Intelligence and the Karnataka Anti-Terrorism Squad are supposed to interrogate Haleem once he is in the police custody. The Kozhikode blasts are said to have similarities with the blasts that took place in Bangalore. Abdul Jaleel, supposed to be an associate of Haleem, is in a Bangalore jail in connection with the blasts. The Karnataka police are coming to Kerala, reportedly, with details collected from Abdul Jaleel.

However, the Kozhikode blasts still remain a mystery, despite the arrest of Haleem. Police sources say that Haleem knew how to make bombs but he was not the one who placed bombs in Kozhikode. The police say he only knew the details of the blast and he is the third accused in the case. Thadiyantavide Naseer, supposed to be a close associate of Haleem, is the prime plotter in the blast case, say the police.
