Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala will host a seminar on Indo-British business partnership here Aug 6 to explore fresh business opportunities in the European country.
According to a statement issued by the British Deputy High Commission, Chennai, a 10-member team representing the UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) will hold talks on discuss business opportunities with top officials of Kerala-based companies at the seminar.
UKTI is a business promotion body of the British government,
Robert Kelly, deputy head of mission at the British Deputy High Commission in Chenai, will lead the British team.
State Minister for Industries Elamaram Kareem will be the special guest of honour at the seminar.
“India is now second only to the US in the number of foreign direct investment (FDI) projects going to the UK. In 2008-09, India replaced Japan as the largest Asian supplier of FDI projects in the UK,” Kelly said in the statement.
“Our seminar is designed to identify precise areas where further opportunities lie for businesses in Kerala and UK to work together.”
