Hundreds of police trainees kidnapped in Pakistan, says report

Islamabad : Hundreds of police trainees who were travelling in four buses in Pakistan’s tribal region of North Waziristan were kidnapped by suspected militants Monday, a media report said.

The incident took place in Miranshah, the capital of North Waziristan, bordering Afghanistan, the Dawn TV reported.

The Dawn citing unconfirmed reports said around 400 police trainees from the Razmak Cadet College might have been abducted.

Mirza Muhammad Jehadi, advisor to prime minister on tribal affairs, told Dawn TV that the Taliban might be involved in the abduction.

The students and college staff were going home after the college was closed due to security reasons.
