Patna : Bihar is taking all measures to tackle swine flu, including setting up a three-member rapid response team and screening people entering the state from the border with Nepal, an official said Monday.
No case of influenza A (H1N1), or swine flu, has been reported in the state so far, Health Minister Nand Kishore Yadav said. “The state is fully prepare to tackle it,” he added.
The two international road entry points at Raxaul and Jogbani, bordering Nepal, are being monitored round the clock and people entering the country are being screened.
This apart, the records of foreign tourists visiting Bihar’s Bodh Gaya, Rajgir, Nalanda and other historic places in the last 10 days are also being verified.
Yadav said that all preventive measures have been initiated according to the central guidelines.
He said that all the medical college hospitals and district hospitals had been directed to make special arrangement for admitting swine flu patients.
India has so far recorded 23 confirmed cases of swine flu, 11 of whom have been discharged after being cured.
