Ranchi : Two days after he resigned from all party posts, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Yashwant Sinha Monday sought a probe into how the contents of the resignation letter were leaked to the media.
“It would be in the interest of the party to investigate how the letter was leaked to the media,” Sinha, former external affairs minister, told reporters in Hazaribagh, his parliamentary constituency.
In his five-page resignation letter, according to party sources, Sinha has said that the responsibility for tghe party’s defeat in the Lok Sabha elections should be fixed. He also demanded reconstitution of the party.
Sinha denied that he had himself leaked the letter to the media.
On Saturday, Sinha quit all party posts, including as national vice president of the BJP.
“I stick to what I have said in my letter. The party should be reconstituted,” he said.
He said Sunday that he would would remain with the BJP and serve people of his constituency.
