The ranks of the successful students of EAMCET both in medicine and engineering were announced today.

Though in Eamcet results both Allauddin and Krishnamurthy were tied on the number one rank securing 153 out of total 158 marks, ranks were decided by combing the marks of EAMCET as well as Intermediate (plus two score).

However there was no Muslim candidate among the top five rankers in medicine stream.

Allauddin, son of a government employee studied at Narayana College in the city, which has the reputation of producing many top rankers.

“I am slightly disappointed on not getting the first rank. Any way I am thankful to God, my parents and teachers for my success”, he said.

He attributed his success to consistent hard work and dedication. “I used to revise my portion every weekend”, he said.

There was a keen competition between Allauddin and Krishnamurthy. While Murthy came first in mathematics securing 80 marks against his competitor’s 73, Allauddin secured 38 and 39 in physics and chemistry against Krishnamurthy’s 36 and 37.

Despite the gloomy outlook and projects in the IT and software sector, both the topers were more inclined towards pursuing career in IT sector. Krishnamurthy was interested in software engineering while Allauddin wanted to adopt Computer engineer as a career.

Of the 3,02,646 students who appeared in engineering entrance 272086 students passed while in medical stream of the 62656 students, 60351 students passed.

A separate merit list of minority students will be released with their ranks to enable them to secure admission under 4% reservation quota both in engineering and medical streams in private as well as government colleges.
