Naudero, Pakistan : President Asif Ali Zardari said here that Pakistan will be put on the path to prosperity in the light of the principles of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, he said, gave her life for the entire nation and her party workers.
Addressing a huge gathering on Sunday at Naudero House on the occasion of the 56th birth anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, the President said democracy possessed all the solutions for Pakistan’s problems.
“Mohtarma (Benazir) had provided me the political guideline. We know very well how to resolve the problems of our country,” he said.
The President said the Bhutto family even sacrificed their lives whenever the country called for sacrifices.
President Asif Ali Zardari who is also the Co-chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) announced that various professional wings will be established in the Party including Religious Wing, Teachers Wing, Legal Wing etc. so that the problems of the people are resolved in a better way and at a faster pace.
He said Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had taught the principles of struggle and “we are committed to protect Pakistan in accordance with those principles”.
“I am sure that the evil internal and external machinations against Pakistan will not succeed,” the President said.
About Pakistan’s ties with China, President Asif Zardari said “China is the fountainhead of our confidence and friendship.”
“I visit China almost every two months. This friendship is a continuation of the friendship built by Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto”, he added.
With China’s help, President Asif Zardari said hydro-power stations will be set up to overcome the shortage of energy so that the problem of energy supply is resolved.
He vowed that agricultural production will be increased and new industrial units will be set up.
Paying rich tributes to Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, the President said Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is an “Awami party” (party of the masses).
He said the entire world is happy with the democratic government in Pakistan and it desires to make investment in Pakistan.
The government, President Zardari said wants to transform Pakistan into a welfare state.
President Asif Ali Zardari said Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is a symbol of the Federation. He vowed that the struggle against terrorism and ignorance (Jahalat) will continue to be waged.
The terrorists are conducting their cruel activities in the garb of religion and it has become necessary to eliminate them, the President said.
The operation in Swat is being conducted for the protection of the country, he further said. It enjoys full support of the entire nation, he added.
Reiterating that PPP is a symbol of the Federation, President Asif Ali Zardari reminded that immediately after coming to power an apology was extended to the people of Balochistan on behalf of the Federation.
He said it is a part of the manifesto of PPP to provide legitimate rights to the provinces.
The President pledged that Balochistan will be given a share of mineral wealth. Balochistan will also be provided all possible resources of human development, he added.
President Asif Zardari said “we fully realise the sentiment of deprivation felt by Balochistan”.
He said now that the federal budget has been presented and it is time to talk about National Finance Commission (NFC) Award. He expressed confidence that the aspirations of all the four provinces will be fulfilled in this connection.
Urging the masses, the President said Pakistan needs them. “It is our land. We will give every sacrifice for it. We will even give our blood if a time comes,” he added.
