Brussels : European Union foreign policy chief , Javeir Solana, met here Thursday evening with Foreign Minister of Nepal, Upendra Yadav, and discussed EU-Nepal ties and the situation in Nepal and the region.
It was a “courtesy call and a short meeting,” sources in Solana’s office told EuAsiaNews.
Yadav informed his EU interlocutor that the drafting of the new constitution in Nepal was in the process of completion and Solana described this as “very good news”, said the sources speaking on condition of anonymity.
The Nepalese minister described his country’s relations with China and India as “very good” and noted that Nepal has open borders with India.
Solana underlined the 27-member European blocs’s support in reconciliation and reconstruction process in Nepal.
He also noted that the EU looks atr the future of Nepal with “great hope.”
