Vishambhar Joshi, a retired Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) official who returned to Delhi Friday morning after a trip to Uttarakhand, reported to police that a strong foul smell was coming from his house in Timarpur and his son Govind was not opening the door.

“The door of the house was locked from inside and there was a strong stench. After entering the house, we found Govind lying dead on the bed,” a police officer told IANS.

“We found worms all over his body, which had apparently become heavy due to heat and humidity. It seems that he might have died at least five-six days ago. Post-mortem is being conducted at the mortuary,” said the officer.

“The cause of the death will only be known after the autopsy report. The victim has not left any suicide note.

“His father said Govind was unemployed for the past three-four months and he used to remain ill and depressed,” the officer added.
