Majority of the foreigners arrested are students and their nationality was being checked, police said.

Only liquor bottles were found and no drugs at the farmhouse near tourist attraction Dodda Aladamara (the Big Banyan Tree), about 35 km from Bangalore, Devaraj (only one name), a deputy superintendent of police, told IANS.

“We arrested the 100 because permission had not been taken to serve liquor,” he said.

No drugs were found, he added.

“We raided the place around 4.30 a.m. Sunday,” Devaraj said.

There were 20 girls at the party. All the arrested are in the age group of 25 to 30 years.

Around 20 cars have also been seized.

“We have booked cases under the Excise Act. Those arrested will be produced before a magistrate later in the day,” Devaraj said.
