Boy dies after dog chase, family donates eyes

Chennai : The eyes of an 11-year-old boy who died when he fell from the terrace after he was chased by a dog were donated by his parents here Sunday, members of the family said.

S. Aashish Aravind fell from the terrace of his uncle’s house here Saturday.

“My son was visiting his uncle and went to the terrace after dinner along with his cousin Prashant. A doberman owned by two airhostesses chased them. While Prashant managed to run to safety, my son fell off the roof to his death yesterday (Saturday) night,” Aravind’s father K. Srinivasan, an airline official told IANS.

“Aravind is dead, but his eyes will help someone to see,” Srinivasan added.

Cases have been registered for negligence against the owners of the dog, Samitha and Namitha Nair, sisters who work as airhostessees and live near the airport, police sources said.
